CIRCA is a Manx registered charity supporting people across the Isle of Man to live independently, stay connected and access practical information that helps them take part in everyday life.
Our work is guided by a simple ethos:
Caring for Independence, Reconnecting our Community through Accessibility.
CIRCA was established to support charities and individuals across the Island, and our role has evolved over time in response to community need.
Today, we provide practical, people-focused services that support independence, community connection and accessibility - helping individuals and families navigate everyday challenges with confidence.
CIRCA is supported through a combination of grants, donations and community support, which enable us to deliver our services and maintain our facilities.
As a charity, we rely on this support to continue helping people live independently, stay connected and access practical information across the Isle of Man.
If you would like to support our work, donations of any size are greatly appreciated
CIRCA is governed by an elected committee of volunteers and delivered by a small staff team based at the CIRCA House in Douglas.
CIRCA House also includes a meeting room, available to hire for a nominal fee.
"We’re here to support independence, improve accessibility and help people stay connected to their community"
Laura Cubbon, Circa Centre Manager
Through our Shopmobility service, CIRCA provides use of mobility equipment to help people move around Douglas town centre safely and independently.
This service is available to Manx residents and enables people to shop, attend appointments and remain active within their community, supporting their independence and participation in everyday life.
CIRCA supports people who are interested in volunteering by offering advice, guidance and introductions to local charities and voluntary organisations.
Volunteering is one of the ways we help people reconnect with their community - whether that’s building confidence, meeting new people, gaining experience or making a positive contribution to a cause they care about.
CIRCA provides practical accessibility information and helpful resources to support disabled people, carers and families across the Isle of Man.
Disability Networks is now part of CIRCA’s accessibility work, strengthening our role as a central hub for clear, reliable and up-to-date accessibility information.
